Synopsis : Gabriel Figueroa was the most famous cinematographer in Mexico during the 20th century. His films will be the screen on which the most renown cinematographers of the world, will get the inspiration to talk about Figueroa, but also about them and their approach in the process of creating images.

Traitement : “The Crazy Machine” is the story of images that interconnect, shadows and silhouettes that are created. It is about creating emotions with Figueroa’s light. It is about moving the spectator through the interviews of some of the world’s best cinematographers. The pulse and the rhythm of the film only wants to present this dialogue of images, sounds and music in the most sensitive and subtle way. The best cinematographers will be reunited around this project, around one country, around one photographer. For the spectators this will be a voyage of discovery; Mexico seen through Figueroa’s eyes; light shining through the words of the world’s best cinematographers.

Auteurs : Emilio Maillé  : Mexican, lives between France and Mexico. His first film "Les Années Arruza" won the Golden Fipa for best documentary in 1997. Has directed documentaries, a feature film and several TV series.
